In early September 2018, Marell Tomeh - just 24 years old, received devastating news that she has relapsed Acute Lymphoblastic and Myeloid Leukemia and is now in need of a stem cell match. Currently on a worldwide registry, Marell does not have a match.

Originally being diagnosed at the age of 19, Marell completed what was supposed to be a 90% curable treatment during a 2.5 year process, but the cancer has now returned.

After her first diagnosis and treatment, Marell worked extremely hard to reintegrate back into university and work. She was also an active speaker for the Terry Fox Foundation and Relay for Life at The University of Toronto. Marell continued to be a voice and support system for those undergoing similar experiences and mental health issues. 

Again, Marell is currently on a worldwide registry, as she has yet to find her match: one that she needs to save her life. Unfortunately, her family members are not compatible, and will need an unrelated donor in the weeks to come.
